May 2010

Spring is here, summer is just around the corner and so is Open Studios.  This is my favourite time of the year, when the nosey folk amongst us get to see what everyone get’s up to in their studios!  One of our Derbyshire based members, Louise Broad is having an Open Studios event this weekend, here is more information about her event.

The fabulous Kate Sutton has worked her magic again to provide us with yet another fantastic flyer – this time for our upcoming 2nd annual Candyfloss Craft Fair.  The flyer and buttons will shortly be available to download on our fairs site if you’d like to publicise the fair on your website or blog.

You can see more of the flyers Kate has designed for us here in our Flickr album and you can apply for our fair here on our Craft Candy Fairs site.  Get your application in quick though because the closing date isn’t far away now – you have until the 31st May to apply.

Our members are such a talented bunch, Lucia of Bettyjoy is our featured member on the blog this week and her fabulous new Crafty Workshops.

Lucia has run several popular workshops for us at Craft Candy and she is now running some of her own at the shop of fellow member Yvonne, Jam Jar Beads.  Lucia will be teaching her wonderful Birdie Brooch workshop as well as new sessions such as shoe customisation.

For more information visit Lucia’s Blog!

Hurrah – applications for 2nd annual Candyfloss Craft Fair are open and the applications have already started flooding in from you talented folk!

Candyfloss will be held at the Millennium Gallery on Saturday 17th July 2010.  As usual entry is free to the public and our last fair attracted over 1200 visitors which was our best attendance yet!

Head over to the Fairs page to apply and don’t forget to read the FAQ’s for all the important info you need to know. If you’d like to see the photos from our previous fair Spring Fling then visit our Flickr collection.
