My love affair with all things crafty began before I can remember, watching my Dad paint and make beautiful objects out of wood, my Mum and Nan knit and my Gran crochet...oh and, of course, rummaging through my Nan's button tin every time I visited. I am never happier than when I'm surrounded with scraps of paper, fabric, yarn, ribbons and lots of buttons. Dad always thought I'd be a Blue Peter presenter, always making something fantastical out of junk. My first ever job was working as a potter for my old pottery teacher in the Peak District. From there I went onto University, too scared to pursue design and engineering like I'd always wanted. I am now a Law and American Studies graduate who taught small children in Texas for 4 years before moving back home to once again embrace my messy craftiness that sometimes keeps me on the right side of sane.
