Hi, I'm Louise - I'm 34 years old. I have the pleasure of my home being located both in Sheffield and Derbyshire. My earliest memory of crafting was when I was 4 years old and it was raining outside. My mum would get the paints out for me and I would spend many a happy hour indoors experimenting with colour. My dad painted too – so he was a big inspiration to me. When I was in Y6 at primary school I had a lovely teacher who let me draw a lot – whenever I had done my 'other' work. At secondary school my textile teachers really encouraged me and I found that textiles was my favourite subject. I first did a B.Ed (Hons) Primary Teaching degree at Leeds Metropolitan University, specialising in Design Technology and have spent many happy years supply teaching since then. However, I missed my own textile work – so I went back to uni' and did a BA (Hons) Textile Design at Derby University, specialising in print / embroidery. My designs often contain my love for animals and flowers. I mainly use hand processes however I have also learnt how to use Photoshop and do digital printing onto fabric. So now I spend my days creatively teaching and designing which gives me a lot of variety. I create designs on a freelance basis and have recently started to sell my own cards on my blogsite.
