My interest in ceramics started with collecting rather than making but I had always wanted to have a go, so enrolled in a course a Sheffield Collage. I was immediately captivated by the process of taking a lump of clay (essentially mud) and turning it into a useful object. The course covered all aspects of making but I fell in love with throwing pots on the wheel. Having attended the collage for 3 years I decided to set up a studio in my cellar. I mainly produce domestic ware such as bowls, mugs, vases and jugs in stoneware or more decorative items in earthenware; I also do a range of ceramic pendants and brooches.
